Where Semrush Local is genuinely better
Data. Keyword research, competitor and backlink intelligence, historical trends, and AI-visibility prompt tracking across several engines at scale. No small tool has a dataset like that, and their GBP agent is genuinely doing work rather than reporting.
The honest difference
Most tools in this category are built to measure and report, or to manage your listings across directories. Useful work — but it assumes somebody is going to read the report and then go and change the website. If you are a plumber running a two-van operation, nobody is.
